The news of the sale of the Corcoran Gallery really stunned me with a note that it held a Waterlilies painting that I could not recall ever seeing. A later article clarified that the painting hung in one of Huguette Clark's New York apartments and hadn't been shown publicly in years.So, Monet wasn't exaggerating.
